Chinese AI platform Laiye advances digital workforces with AI agents to boost productivity and transform enterprises worldwide.
Chinese intelligent automation platform Laiye is intensifying efforts to build digital workforces powered by artificial intelligence (AI) agents. This initiative aims to enhance productivity, free workers from repetitive and mechanical tasks, and accelerate enterprises' digital transformation.
Wang Guanchun, chairman and CEO of Laiye, stated, "We're entering a new era where AI agents will take on real work at scale," emphasizing the vast opportunities for AI agents across sectors such as manufacturing.
He projects that all Fortune 500 companies will soon employ more digital workers than human employees, with 90 percent of knowledge work autonomously executed by AI agents. Wang highlighted that society is moving into the era of the AI agent economy.
AI agents have gained global attention and experienced explosive growth in 2025. These systems autonomously perform tasks on behalf of users or other systems by designing workflows and utilizing available tools. Unlike chatbots, AI agents execute complex actions across industries, delivering tangible business outcomes.
Before the generative AI boom, Laiye developed solutions including chatbots, robotic process automation, and document automation. Wang noted that with advances in large language models, AI agents have become the new digital employees, equipped with stronger inference and planning capabilities.
Laiye prioritizes product innovation and invests heavily in research and development. Its mission is to empower every employee with AI agents to boost productivity and creativity, building a future-ready workforce for businesses.

Wang praised the surge of innovative Chinese AI startups, attributing fierce competition in China’s AI sector to rapid technological iteration and upgrades. He expressed confidence in China’s AI innovation capabilities and competitiveness, especially in open-source large language models, while stressing the importance of data security and privacy protection.
Regarding overseas expansion, Laiye plans to grow its presence in Southeast Asia—including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia—and in Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia.
Laiye views AI not as a replacement for humans but as a collaborative partner. AI-powered digital workers relieve employees from repetitive tasks, complementing human abilities and insights. For organizations, combining digital and human employees can invigorate business innovation and optimize workflows.
Global consultancy Gartner predicts that by 2028, at least 15 percent of daily work decisions will be autonomously made by agentic AI. Gartner has identified AI agents as a top strategic technology trend for 2025, noting their ability to plan, automate tasks, make informed decisions, and interact with environments.
Recently, Laiye unveiled an enterprise-level AI agent matrix for diverse applications.
