Riskified and HUMAN Security have partnered to provide merchants with enhanced protection against fraud and abuse stemming from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) shopping agents. This collaboration integrates HUMAN Security's HUMAN Sightline platform, featuring its AgenticTrust technology, with Riskified's extensive expertise in eCommerce risk management. The goal is to empower merchants to confidently accept legitimate AI-driven transactions while effectively blocking fraudulent activities.
The partnership introduces new tools designed to manage AI shopping agents:
- AI Agent Approve: This feature facilitates secure and accelerated shopping by enabling merchants and large language model (LLM) buyers to communicate directly with the Riskified platform.
- AI Agent Intelligence: Merchants can utilize this tool to monitor eCommerce orders that originate from AI shopping agents, providing crucial visibility into this evolving channel.
- AI Agent Policy Builder: This tool specifically targets and detects various forms of abuse, including programmatic returns, reseller arbitrage, and promo abuse. Assaf Feldman, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Riskified, highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration: "By working with HUMAN and developing new agentic tools and capabilities, we give merchants a way to safely embrace this shift, turning what could be a threat into a new, profitable digital channel." John Searsby, HUMAN's Chief Strategy Officer, added, "Together, we enable merchants to approve more legitimate AI-driven orders, reduce false declines and protect margins, setting the standard for how agentic commerce can grow safely and profitably." Industry experts predict a significant impact of agentic AI on retail. PYMNTS reported in December 2024 that Paul van der Boor, VP of AI at Prosus, forecasted AI agents handling one-fifth of all eCommerce tasks within a year. Similarly, eBay CEO Jamie Iannone noted in February 2025 that agentic AI could create a novel online shopping channel, with eBay already experimenting with OpenAI's AI agent, Operator, to direct users to listings. This partnership between Riskified and HUMAN signifies a crucial step in fortifying the burgeoning landscape of AI-driven commerce, enabling merchants to innovate while mitigating associated risks.
