Solana AI Tokens Look to Mount Comeback
Nearly six months after the LIBRA scandal that rocked Solana’s on-chain ecosystem, some of the AI agent tokens that launched during the AI mania are showing strong gains. Amid a broader altcoin rally over the weekend, the AI agent comeback is being led by smaller-cap AI agent token SwarmNodeai (SNAI), which surged nearly 230% over the last week and 52% in the last 24 hours. Heurist’s HEU token is also rallying, up 75% this week and 23% over the past day, while GRIFFAIN gained 22% over the last seven days.
AI Leaders Facing Headwinds
While these smaller-cap assets—mostly representing agentic AI-related products with associated tokens—are performing well, the AI agent meta’s leaders such as AI16Z, GOAT, and VIRTUAL are struggling today.
- AI16Z is down 10% today.
- Virtuals Protocol’s VIRTUAL token is down 5%.
- GOAT is down 4%. This indicates traders are cautiously moving speculative capital back into some of the smaller tokens that were heavily beaten down over the past six months. Still Far From All-Time Highs Despite recent gains, these AI agent tokens remain significantly below their all-time highs:
- SNAI is down 90% from its $130 million market cap peak.
- GRIFFAIN is down 93% from its $625 million high.
- HEU is down 77% from its $460 million peak. The recent price action among small-cap AI agent tokens may also be fueling positive sentiment around the pumpfun ecosystem, as many of these tokens were originally launched via the memecoin launchpad. PUMP, a token associated with this ecosystem, is one of today’s top altcoin performers, up over 16% today and nearly 23% on the week.
